The Neighborhood

Mott Haven, previously an industrial area, is now a hub for those looking to move to the NYC area. This South Bronx area is bound by East 149th Street to the north, the Bronx Kill waterway to the south and stretches from the Harlem River to the Bruckner Expressway. Nearby neighborhoods include Port Morris, Melrose, Woodstock, Concourse, and Highbridge.

Mott Haven is transforming, welcoming those from all walks of life. This waterfront area is converting older buildings and vacant lots into newly renovated apartments and restaurants.

Mott Haven is recognized for having a true New York feel. Locals include families and young professionals alike while maintaining a strong Hispanic presence. Mott Haven natives love to spend time at local bars and authentic restaurants. There are a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, many with outdoor seating for the summer time.

It is home to the largest park in the South Bronx. Saint Mary’s Park is conveniently located between St. Ann’s Avenue and Jackson Avenue, allowing for easy access to the community. The park offers a space to have fun or just relax within a busy area. Spread across Mott Haven, you can find areas to sit and unwind on patches of greenery.

Plenty of subway lines and bus routes in the area make Mott Haven easy to navigate. There is ample street parking in the neighborhood, so commuting via car is fairly easy.
